The BBC is calling on rising African journalists to apply for the 10th edition of the BBC News Komla Dumor Award, which seeks to recognize and develop exceptional talent on the continent.
The winner will receive a three-month placement at the BBC headquarters in London, where they will gain professional training and report on an original African story for a global audience.
Applications close on March 20, 2025, at 23:59 GMT.
The award was established in honor of Komla Dumor, a renowned Ghanaian broadcaster who made a lasting impact on African journalism before his sudden passing 11 years ago.
Previous winners include Rukia Bulle from Kenya (2024), Paa Kwesi Asare from Ghana (2023), and Victoria Rubadiri from Kenya (2020).
BBC News Global Director Jonathan Munro described the award as a tribute to Dumor’s commitment to telling African stories with depth and integrity and encouraged journalists from across Africa to apply.
