The Manhyia Palace has announced that Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II will resume his mediation efforts to help resolve the long-standing Bawku conflict.
According to a statement issued on April 15, 2025, the peace talks are scheduled to take place at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi from April 28 to May 1, 2025.
The Asantehene, known for his influential role in peace-building across the country, has called on all stakeholders involved in the conflict to fully cooperate with the mediation process.
Otumfuo’s renewed intervention is expected to bring a fresh sense of hope to efforts aimed at achieving lasting peace in the Bawku area, which has been plagued by years of intermittent violence and deep-seated tensions despite several interventions.
