Bawku Violence: Victims thank IGP for peace efforts

Victims of recent clashes in Bawku are thankful to the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno. He personally visited the area and showed concern for those affected.

Many victims are receiving treatment for gunshot wounds. They described the IGP’s visit as compassionate leadership during a crisis. They urged him to continue efforts for lasting peace in Bawku. One victim said, “We are deeply touched by the IGP’s presence and concern.”

Mr. Ibrahim Iddrisu, Youth President of Bawku, praised the IGP and his team. He noted their direct engagement with residents was appreciated. “We are grateful to the IGP and his team,” he said. “His visit shows we are not forgotten.”

Iddrisu pledged cooperation with police to restore peace in Bawku. The IGP’s visit came after a series of violent confrontations in the area. This has led to calls for urgent interventions to end the conflict.
