Rev. Dr. Ernest Adu Gyamfi, the former Chairman of the National Peace Council, spoke about the Bawku conflict. He noted that partisan politics have allowed criminals to exploit the situation. This has led to innocent people being killed.
He emphasized that Ghanaians must recognize the chaos. Criminals are taking advantage of this confusion to misbehave.
Rev. Adu Gyamfi urged support for mediation efforts by the Asantehene and the National Peace Council. These efforts aim to restore peace in Bawku.
He made these remarks at the 62nd Annual Refresher Course of the Ghana Baptist Convention Ministers' Conference in Ejura. He stated, "We must support Otumfuo and the peace council." They are actively working on mediation for peace.
In an interview with Adom News, he advised media outlets to be careful with their comments. He said they should promote peace instead of fueling conflict.
The annual Baptist conference gathered ministers from local Baptist churches across Ghana. The Conference President, Rev. Dr. Charles Owusu Ampofo, encouraged ministers to maintain their faith despite life's challenges.
