Bawumia: A Great Asset to the NPP, and a Ready-Made Leader in Waiting for Ghana

I have always admired Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. Recently, a video of his speech at the 2025 IDU Conference in Brussels impressed me greatly.

For over six years, I have followed Dr. Bawumia’s work as Vice President. I have written many articles about him on major websites.

Friends often ask why I write about someone I've never met. I tell them the Akan saying: “He who is climbing a good tree deserves a good push.”

Yesterday, one friend called me to concede his views. He said, “Doc, your man is courageous, smart, and knowledgeable,” after watching the viral video.

This friend now respects Dr. Bawumia more than before. He noted that some of Dr. Bawumia's policies, like Gold for Oil and the Ghana Card, are being vindicated.

I am not surprised by this change of heart. Even critics admit Dr. Bawumia has courage, brilliance, and passion—qualities he showcased at the IDU Summit.

At the summit, he addressed complex issues involving superpowers like the US and China. Many speakers avoided these topics, but Dr. Bawumia tackled them head-on.

With impressive memory and precision, he discussed the trade war and tariffs' negative effects on global economies. His understanding was remarkable; the audience agreed with him completely.

This was not a prepared speech; it was an impromptu response during a panel discussion. His insightful delivery showed he knows his subject well.

Even I was amazed by his brilliance during this event! Calling him brilliant feels like an understatement; his intellect has impacted our nation significantly.

In Ghana, Dr. Bawumia has shown deep understanding of our challenges as Vice President. He took steps to address these issues effectively.

His passion helped build a strong foundation for our economic transformation. He believes no economy can modernize without strong technological support.

Dr. Bawumia pushed for essential systems like identity databases and digital payment systems to improve financial inclusion and public services delivery.

He is committed to setting Ghana on solid economic ground—and we see positive results today.

Even President Mahama has acknowledged some initiatives led by Dr. Bawumia through the Ghana Card program.

If Dr. Bawumia achieved so much as Vice President without full authority, imagine what he could do if given more power!

At the IDU Conference, he demonstrated leadership skills in global politics and development challenges facing countries like ours.

With his experience as Vice President, he showed vision and competence that could transform Ghana significantly if given full authority.

Dr. Bawumia is an asset to our country—a leader ready to serve when called upon.

As Ghanaians, we should be proud to have such talent available for leadership roles in our nation.

You cannot wish Ghana well without recognizing Dr. Bawumia's contributions from his role as Vice President.

He is undoubtedly an asset to the NPP—a leader waiting for his chance in Ghana's future!

The NPP should support Dr. Bawumia again so that Ghanaians can unite behind him for presidency—allowing him to implement his transformative vision for our country.
