Former Special Prosecutor Martin Amidu has acknowledged Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s potential as a future presidential candidate but emphasized the need for a significant image overhaul.
In a recent write-up, Amidu argued that Bawumia’s association with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, marked by perceived disinformation and economic mismanagement, has tarnished his appeal to Ghanaian voters.
Amidu advised Bawumia to redefine himself as a true heir to Alhaji Mumuni Bawumia’s cultural and moral integrity, rooted in the original Northern Tradition (NT).
This transformation, he suggested, is critical for regaining trust and becoming acceptable to the electorate.
Amidu’s comments also revisited claims about Ghana’s first candidate to concede defeat, reaffirming historical records to set the narrative straight.
