Bawumia commends Ghana Fire Service for a yeoman’s job in Kumasi market fire

Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia praised firefighters from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS). He recognized their excellent work during the recent Kumasi market fire.

The fire broke out early on Friday, 21 March, in Adum, Ashanti Region. It destroyed many shops and properties, leaving traders in distress.

Dr. Bawumia visited the affected area on Tuesday, 25 March. He noted the swift response of the fire service. Their quick actions helped contain the fire and prevent further losses.

He called their efforts a “yeoman’s job.” His praise emphasized the need for coordinated emergency responses during crises.

Dr. Bawumia also expressed sympathy for the affected traders. He assured them of his support as they rebuild their businesses.
