Bawumia commends Oquaye committee for a comprehensive and insightful report

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the 2024 Presidential Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He praised the Oquaye Committee for its “comprehensive and insightful” report on the party's future.

On Wednesday, April 23, he spoke at the NPP headquarters in Accra. Dr. Bawumia commended the committee for its hard work and strategic recommendations. He believes these will guide party unity and electoral success.

“The Oquaye Committee’s work shows deep intellectual rigor,” he said. It reflects a strong understanding of our party’s values and Ghanaian aspirations.

He highlighted that the report includes lessons from past elections. It also offers innovative ideas for organizing the party and emphasizes inclusiveness and grassroots engagement.

Dr. Bawumia noted that the NPP is at a critical crossroads. The committee’s findings are timely and essential for moving forward.

The Oquaye Committee was chaired by Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye, a former Speaker of Parliament. They were tasked with reviewing internal structures and making strategic recommendations for long-term strength.

Dr. Bawumia confirmed that many proposals will be included in the upcoming ‘Thank You Tour.’ This tour aims to strengthen party support nationwide and engage directly with voters.

“We must listen more, act better, and stay united,” he stated as they prepare for the 2024 elections.

He encouraged party members to study the report closely. They should align their activities with its recommendations.

“This report is not just for leadership; it’s for every NPP member,” he remarked. He urged everyone to embrace it, implement it, and work together towards victory in December.
