Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has extended support to traders affected by the devastating fire at Adum in Kumasi, donating GH₵200,000 and 1,000 bags of cement to aid their recovery.
During a visit to the scene on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, Dr. Bawumia sympathized with the victims and urged private individuals and businesses to assist in rebuilding efforts.
He also called for patience as investigations by the Ghana National Fire Service continue to determine the cause of the fire, emphasizing the need for preventive measures.
Dr. Bawumia further urged the government to fast-track the completion of the Kejetia Central Market Phase II project, which he noted was about 80% complete when the NPP left office.
Accompanied by NPP Regional Chairman Bernard Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi) and other party officials, he commended firefighters for their swift response and wished two hospitalized officers a speedy recovery.
