Bawumia donates GH¢200K to victims of Kantamanto market fire

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has donated GH¢200,000 to support traders affected by the January 2 fire at Kantamanto Market, which destroyed over 100 shops and displaced many.

During a visit to the victims, Dr. Bawumia assured them of the government’s commitment to rebuilding the market and proposed preventive measures, including installing CCTV cameras and enhancing internal security.

He emphasized the need for a thorough investigation to determine the fire's cause while pledging continued support for the reconstruction process.

Dr. Bawumia commended the swift commencement of rebuilding efforts and reiterated the government’s intention to ensure the market becomes safer and more secure for traders, even as his term in office concludes.
