Fifi Kwetey, General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), criticized former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. He called Bawumia the “epitome of deception.” Kwetey accused him of avoiding responsibility for Ghana’s economic decline.
In an interview on Channel One TV, Kwetey questioned Bawumia’s credibility. He highlighted Bawumia's role as head of the Economic Management Team under the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Kwetey stated, “Bawumia is an epitome of deception.”
He claimed that Bawumia was more focused on spinning stories than telling the truth. According to Kwetey, Bawumia lacked the courage to admit economic mismanagement. He emphasized that Bawumia was in charge and could not escape accountability.
Kwetey further accused Bawumia of running away when Ghana's economy faltered. He said, “When difficulties arose, he pretended he wasn’t in charge.” This behavior shows a lack of leadership and courage, according to Kwetey.
Kwetey concluded by questioning Bawumia’s suitability for higher office. He stated that without a sense of responsibility or accountability, one should not seek leadership. “You are morally weak,” he added about Bawumia's fitness for leadership roles.
