A new poll by Global InfoAnalytics shows Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the top candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer position.
The survey reveals that 48% of Ghanaians prefer Dr. Bawumia to lead the party again. This positions him as the clear front-runner for NPP leadership.
Dr. Bawumia has a significant lead over other contenders. Kennedy Agyapong, who ran in the 2024 NPP primaries, received 25% of votes. Dr. Osei Adutwum secured 13%, while other candidates got a combined total of 14%.
These results show competition within the party, but Dr. Bawumia remains the preferred choice among voters. Among NPP voters, support for him is even stronger at 57%.
Kennedy Agyapong follows with 22%, and Dr. Osei Adutwum has 11%. This indicates overwhelming approval for Dr. Bawumia within the party's core base.
Although party delegates will make the final decision on NPP’s flagbearer, this poll highlights Dr. Bawumia’s popularity. His strong support among both general voters and NPP members makes him a key figure in Ghanaian politics.
This sets up an intriguing leadership contest in the coming years.
