Veteran journalist Kwesi Pratt has shared his views on Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's position in the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He believes Bawumia, once a leading figure, no longer holds that status. Pratt stated, “Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is no longer the candidate of the party.” He added that Bawumia is now in the same position as other presidential hopefuls.
Pratt noted a significant shift in NPP leadership dynamics. He said, “The leader of the party now is Mr. Stephen Ntim, National Chairman.” Ntim has consistently led during elections and remains influential even while in government.
This analysis marks a crucial change for both Dr. Bawumia and the NPP's political strategy. Pratt emphasized that internal reorganization should begin soon.
He mentioned, “The party ought to be looking at election twenty twenty-eight.” This suggests that future leadership battles will be competitive, with Bawumia needing to vie with other candidates.
Pratt shared these insights on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana program, which was monitored by MyNewsGH.
