Bawumia not Under Akufo-Addo’s control, worthy to lead NPP – Dr Amoako Baah

Dr. Richard Amoako Baah, a prominent member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has stated that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has proven his independence and deserves to lead the party.

Speaking after the 2024 elections, Dr. Baah commended Bawumia for conceding defeat without external pressure, noting that the gesture reflected maturity and personal conviction.

He said this act contradicts earlier claims that Bawumia would be manipulated by former President Akufo-Addo.

According to him, Bawumia’s actions have dispelled such doubts, showcasing him as a capable leader who cannot be easily controlled.

Dr. Baah, who previously suggested a Bawumia-Alan Kyerematen ticket for the 2024 elections, added that the former Vice President remains popular within the NPP and could again emerge as the party’s flagbearer in future contests.
