The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is waiting for Prof. Ocquaye's report. This report will investigate the reasons for their defeat in the 2024 elections. It will also suggest strategies for rebuilding the party.
Key party members are sharing their views on this issue. Many are discussing why the NPP lost and how to improve future chances.
Sarah Adwoa Safo, a former MP for Dome-Kwabenya, defended Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. She believes he should not be blamed for the electoral defeat. In an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosiisen show, she expressed her confidence in him.
Adwoa Safo pointed out that neglecting the Ashanti Region hurt the party's performance there. Poor road infrastructure allowed the opposition NDC to gain four parliamentary seats in that region.
Despite these challenges, she insists Dr. Bawumia is not at fault. She emphasized that addressing concerns and improving infrastructure is crucial for regaining voter trust in future elections.
