Bawumia not running from Akufo-Addo’s record – Opare-Ansah

Frederick Opare-Ansah is the Campaign Manager for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. He is running in the 2024 presidential election. Opare-Ansah stated that Bawumia has not distanced himself from past government issues.

Concerns have arisen that Bawumia wants to separate himself from previous failures. In an interview on Citi Prime News, Opare-Ansah said, “I am yet to hear the former Vice President dissociate himself from government actions.” He emphasized that Bawumia uses "we" in his speeches, showing collective responsibility.

Opare-Ansah noted, “In all his speeches, the pronoun used most widely has been ‘we.’” He explained that research shows they did not listen to people while in power.

“They said we should reshuffle, but we did not,” he added. Bawumia did not blame others for decisions made during their time in office. Instead, he acknowledged public dissatisfaction with policies like the E-levy.
