Bawumia’s apology is political theatre, not sincere — Osman Ayariga fires back

Osman Ayariga doubts Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s recent apology to Ghanaians. He calls it a political move, not a genuine act of accountability.

In an interview on GHOne TV, Ayariga expressed skepticism about Bawumia's motives. He accused the Vice President-turned-flagbearer of trying to manipulate voters before the 2024 elections.

“Bawumia’s apology is very dishonest,” Ayariga stated. He described it as “theatrics and dishonesty,” typical of a con artist.

Ayariga believes Ghanaians want sincere leadership that accepts responsibility. He views Bawumia’s apology as a tactic for political gain, not an admission of mistakes.

“He’s not apologizing out of regret,” he said. “He wants to create a narrative that he’s changed.” Ayariga insists this is an attempt to deceive both the NPP and Ghanaians.

He questioned Bawumia's silence during the economic crisis. “Where was this remorse when the economy was sinking?” he asked.

Ayariga warned Ghanaians, especially opposition members, against falling for “Bawumia’s theatrics.” He believes voters are more politically aware than ever.

“I believe the people of Ghana are wide awake,” he said. They won’t be fooled by staged humility; what we see is desperation.

Ayariga urged Bawumia to support his apology with real actions. He suggested acknowledging current economic leaders like Finance Minister Ato Forson.

Forson has stabilized the economy in months, something Bawumia's team failed to do in years.

“If he’s really sorry, he should congratulate Ato Forson and John Mahama,” Ayariga concluded.
