Ernest Owusu Bempah is the Deputy Communications Director of the NPP. He has concerns about some supporters of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. He believes they may harm his political future with divisive tactics.
In a media interview, Mr. Bempah criticized what he called “childish and propagandist attitudes.” These attitudes come from certain members of Dr. Bawumia’s camp.
He addressed rumors linking Kennedy Agyapong's camp to the arrest of Chairman Wontumi. Wontumi is currently in custody at the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
Mr. Bempah dismissed claims of a rift between Agyapong and Wontumi. He described them as “very close friends.” He warned that attempts to create division are baseless and harmful to party unity.
He specifically criticized some of Dr. Bawumia’s supporters. Their actions could damage the Vice President’s credibility within the NPP.
“Some of these vampire-like supporters are pushing propaganda,” he said. This propaganda may ruin Dr. Bawumia’s political career, he added.
Bempah questioned why Dr. Bawumia would associate with destructive political gamesmanship. He emphasized that the NPP needs unity and maturity before the 2028 elections.
His remarks highlight growing unease within the NPP over internal factions. These factions could impact the party's chances in upcoming elections.
