Ama Pratt has warned the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP). She accused them of claiming the government is involved in cocaine trafficking and money laundering. However, she noted there is no concrete evidence for these claims.
Pratt, who is the press secretary to Ghana’s vice president, emphasized that such serious allegations have consequences. She stated that making public accusations without proof can lead to repercussions.
During an interview on GHOne TV, she said, “I hope that all of you are ready for the repercussions.” She highlighted the importance of accountability when accusing a government of criminal activities.
Pratt stressed that public discourse is essential in a democracy. However, she insisted that accusations like drug trafficking require responsibility from those making them.
She challenged Parliament's minority to provide evidence for their claims. Instead of speculating about flight movements and aircraft activities, they should present facts.
According to her, simply noting certain flights landed in Ghana is not enough. She asked when they would prove allegations of cocaine and money laundering.
In conclusion, Ama Pratt called for caution in public commentary. This is especially important for high-ranking politicians.
