Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has announced that a bill to repeal several taxes, including the 1% Electronic Transaction Levy (E-Levy) and the 10% withholding tax on lottery winnings, will be presented to Parliament on Wednesday, March 12.
Speaking on Joy News, he emphasized that the move aligns with the 2025 Budget’s commitment to easing financial pressure on households and businesses.
Other levies set for repeal include the Emission Levy, VAT on motor vehicle insurance, and the 1.5% withholding tax on small-scale gold mining.
Dr. Forson assured that the process would be swift, urging Parliament to approve the changes under a certificate of urgency to support economic relief efforts.
