The senior women's national team, the Black Queens, has arrived in Côte d'Ivoire. They are preparing for the delayed 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The team landed on Wednesday afternoon. They will play two friendly matches against the Ivorian women's national team.
Head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren selected a strong squad for this trip. He aims to finalize his team before the tournament in July in Morocco.
Some players traveling to Côte d'Ivoire include Louisa Aniwaa and Afi Amenyeku. This is Louisa's first call-up to the senior national team.
Nancy Amoh, Princess Marfo, and Cynthia Konlan are also part of the squad.
The two friendly matches are set for May 30 and June 3, 2025. Both games will take place in Abidjan.
