Ghana’s Sports and Recreation Minister, Kofi Adams, has confirmed that the new Black Stars Management Committee is not receiving any payment.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) dissolved the previous committee. This decision followed the Black Stars' failure to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 in Morocco.
A new management committee was formed for upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar. Dr. Randy Abbey is the new chairman. Former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah is Vice Chairman and will oversee player relations.
Matchday activities will be managed by Samuel Aboabire and Moses Armah. Richard Nsenkyire will handle special duties related to the team.
Minister Adams spoke to Asempa FM about their compensation. He stated that they are not being paid currently. However, he mentioned a potential reward if Ghana qualifies for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
He said, "If we qualify for the World Cup, then we will decide on rewards." He also clarified that government support includes accommodation and meals only.
"The government covers their food and lodging," he added. "For now, they are all doing a sacrificial job for the team."
