Blakk Rasta strongly criticized the government's handling of galamsey. He spoke during his show on 3FM's Urban Blend, as reported by MyNewsGh.
The reggae musician expressed frustration over illegal mining's ongoing destruction. This continues despite many statements from political leaders.
He accused politicians of treating galamsey as a political game. They reward supporters during elections while ignoring environmental damage.
Blakk Rasta said, “Galamsey has become a political tool. After winning elections, politicians sit back and let the destruction continue.”
He condemned government officials for their inaction. “I am tired of hearing these politicians talk without real action,” he stated. “How long can we wait for change? The time for press briefings is over; we need real action now.”
The musician highlighted rising pollution levels in water bodies. He said the situation is out of control and worsening daily. “We are like Christmas chickens, just waiting to be slaughtered,” he remarked.
