Richard Ahiagbah, Communications Director of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), has held the National Democratic Congress (NDC) responsible for the deaths of eight people in Obuasi.

He criticized the ruling party's alleged failure to control their supporters, which he believes led to the tragic incident.

In a tweet, Ahiagbah referred to the incident as a "Black Sunday" under President John Mahama’s administration, expressing condolences to the victims’ families.

He urged Ghanaians to hold the NDC accountable for the actions of their "rampaging members."

Acknowledging the irreparable loss, Ahiagbah emphasized the need for justice through investigations, although he lamented that no probe could reverse the deaths. He called for prayers and solidarity as the nation seeks answers for the "Obuasi 8."
