“Blatant falsehood” – Frank Davies on Kissi Agyebeng’s denial of Ofori-Atta’s medical report

Frank Davies, the lawyer for former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, criticized the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP). He accused them of lying about not receiving his client's medical report. Davies expressed concern that a public office is being misused.

Kissi Agyebeng, the Special Prosecutor, stated that Ofori-Atta has not provided any medical report. He noted this lack of documentation since January 24. Agyebeng mentioned that Ofori-Atta claimed he would have surgery in March but did not update the OSP on his condition.

Agyebeng described a letter from Ofori-Atta's lawyers as bad faith. He believes it shows Ofori-Atta does not intend to return to Ghana or cooperate with the OSP.

In response, Frank Davies told Citi Eyewitness News that the OSP's claims are false. He insisted that they received the medical report filed in court on May 27. Davies expressed distress over what he called blatant falsehoods from the Special Prosecutor.

The OSP also dismissed rumors about a medical report claiming Ofori-Atta is unfit to travel. They stated no official documents have been submitted to their office regarding his health.

Currently, Ken Ofori-Atta is listed as wanted on Interpol’s official website. This follows an INTERPOL Red Notice issued for his extradition to Ghana after being declared a fugitive by the OSP.
