Assembly members and government appointees in Akatsi North district have confirmed Bless Kodjo Katamani as the new District Chief Executive (DCE).
Mr. Katamani expressed his gratitude in an acceptance speech. He thanked the assembly members and appointees for their trust in him. He aims to enhance development in the area.
He understands the challenges facing the district. Mr. Katamani is committed to transforming Akatsi North. “I will ensure development and accountability,” he stated.
He urged residents to support him in achieving progress. He wants everyone in Akatsi North to benefit from national resources. “We have great potential, and I will leverage it for growth,” he said.
Mr. Katamani plans to prioritize education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, and economic empowerment. These efforts aim to create job opportunities for youth.
He emphasized unity among residents for transformation. He believes collaboration with stakeholders is essential for success. Development requires involvement from political leaders, civil servants, religious bodies, and citizens.
“Government alone cannot do it,” he noted. President John Dramani Mahama has decentralized governance for local participation.

Volta Regional Minister James Gunu thanked assembly members for their unanimous support of Mr. Katamani. He highlighted that confirming the DCE is crucial for local development.
Mr. Gunu mentioned that President Mahama aims to transform Ghana quickly. “You have shown readiness to uplift Akatsi North through development,” he said.
The minister believes this confirmation marks a new era for Akatsi North. He assured that Mr. Katamani's leadership would meet expectations.
Mr. Gunu encouraged other districts to follow Akatsi North’s example by confirming their nominees promptly so President Mahama can reset the country effectively.
