BoG, Finance Ministry discuss clean-up of micro-finance institutions, rural banks - Ghanaian Times

The Bank of Ghana (BoG) is discussing a clean-up of Specialised Deposit-Taking Institutions (SDIs).

This includes micro finance institutions (MFIs) and rural banks.

Governor Dr. Johnson Asiama announced this during a press conference.

He emphasized the need to strengthen the SDI sector.

Mergers and acquisitions are expected as part of the clean-up process.
