The National Investigation Bureau (NIB) in Bono East has intercepted a Kia-Rhino truck smuggling food items meant for the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP).
The truck, registered AS 9584-14, was carrying 56 bags of 50kg 'Lucy' rice intended for Jema and Kintampo Senior High Schools but was allegedly diverted.
The driver, who collected the items from Techiman Senior High School's distribution point, was arrested after offloading the rice onto two tricycles at Tuobodom, Techiman North District.
NIB officials impounded the truck and tricycles, which remain at their Techiman command.
Investigations are ongoing.
The incident highlights concerns about the integrity of GSFP deliveries and the potential misuse of critical resources.
