Bono Regional Prison Commander honoured at a pull-out ceremony after 32 years of service

A pull-out ceremony was held for Williams Kulah, the Bono Regional Prison Commander. The event took place at the Sunyani Central Prison.

Regional Commanders from various security services attended. Clergy members, departmental heads, and residents were also present. Members of the Regional Security Council (RESEC) joined the gathering, along with the Bono Regional Minister.

DDP Williams Kulah served in the Ghana Prison Service for 32 years and 9 months. He has made significant contributions during his tenure.

The ceremony occurred on the football field of Sunyani Central Prison. Bono Regional Minister Joseph Addae Akwaboah praised DDP Kulah's efforts.

Under DDP Kulah's leadership, an astro-turf football field is near completion. This project was facilitated through the Middle Belt Development Authority. He also renovated the administration block and tiled all offices at the prison.

Additionally, he constructed a church for Kete-Krachi local prison. He drilled two mechanized boreholes to address water issues there. DDP Kulah secured university admission for four inmates and a full scholarship for one at Catholic University. He also re-roofed the inmates' kitchen at Sunyani Central Prison.

DDP Williams Kulah joined the Ghana Prison Service in 1992. Before that, he earned a Diploma in Journalism from GIJ in 1991. He worked as a reporter for Ghana News Agency in Cape Coast.

He served as a recruit officer for two and a half years before promotion to Chief Officer in July 1995. His dedication led to his appointment as head of the Rapid Response Team for ten years.

In 2008, he was transferred to Ankaful Main Camp Prison. While there, he participated in a UN Peacekeeping Mission in South Sudan from June 2009 to May 20
