Botched NIB arrest: Ntim Fordjour in very good spirits – Oppong Nkrumah

Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, MP for Ofoase Ayirebi, has provided an update. His colleague, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, MP for Assin South, is doing well. This follows an attempted arrest by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB).

On April 9, 2025, NIB officials surrounded Rev. Fordjour's home in Spintex, Accra. They aimed to detain him over allegations about two suspicious flights at Kotoka International Airport. He suggested these flights were linked to drug trafficking and money laundering.

Members of the Minority in Parliament and New Patriotic Party (NPP) executives intervened. They argued that the NIB operatives did not have an arrest warrant and were not following legal procedures.

In an interview with Bernard Avle on Channel One TV's The Point of View, Oppong Nkrumah said, "He’s fine, in very good spirits."

Additionally, the NPP plans to take disciplinary action against Adwoa Safo. For more impactful news updates, join CitiNewsroom on WhatsApp through this link: https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaCYzPRAYlUPudDDe53xNo
