The Accra Circuit Court 2 has sentenced Rashid Aziz to 24 months in prison. He is a 19-year-old unemployed youth. He pleaded guilty to conspiracy, unlawful entry, and stealing.
His accomplice, Nelson Godwin Ezel, is 20 years old and also unemployed. Ezel pleaded not guilty and remains in police custody.
Both men faced charges from an incident on May 15, 2025. This occurred in Madina, Greater Accra Region.
Chief Inspector Jonas Lawer led the prosecution. He stated that the two conspired to unlawfully enter Fati Ahmed's room to steal.
They allegedly stole an iPhone 11 Pro Max worth GH¢5,500. They also took a Samsung tablet valued at GH¢1,200. Additionally, they stole jewellery worth GH¢3,000 and cash totaling GH¢3,000. The total value of stolen items was GH¢12,700.
Rashid Aziz pleaded guilty during his court appearance. He was immediately convicted and sentenced to 24 months’ imprisonment.
Nelson Godwin Ezel denied all charges against him. The court has remanded him until June 11, 2025 for further proceedings.
