Bright Simons, Vice President of IMANI Africa, has revealed disturbing findings about Mech Resources, a company linked to the children of former Chief of Staff Frema Opare.
According to Simons, the company was granted a multi-million-dollar gold mining lease despite lacking mining experience and providing insufficient financial documentation.
The Minerals Commission allegedly fast-tracked the lease approval process, overlooking essential due diligence and regulatory requirements.
Mech Resources’ feasibility study predicted massive profits from a gold-rich land lease, valued at over $1.3 billion.
Simons also raised concerns about potential conflicts of interest, citing connections to influential figures in banking and energy.
The revelations point to possible political interference in the mining sector.
