Notorious Criminal Kombian Attempts Escape from Nsawam Prison

On Sunday, the Nsawam Medium Security Prison went on lockdown. Johnson Kombian, a convicted killer, tried to escape with two others.

Kombian was sentenced to death for killing two police officers. They were found in the prison yard at midnight. A vigilant prison warden stopped their escape.

It is unclear how they left their "condemned cell." Prison officials have launched an investigation into the incident.

Kombian has a history of escaping from jail. In 2010, he fled to Togo after killing two officers. He was arrested there with INTERPOL's help.

On August 19, 2015, he received a death sentence by hanging for murder. He is also serving a 30-year term for conspiracy.
