Andy Appiah-Kubi, the former MP for Asante Akim North, supports Dr. Bryan Acheampong as the NPP flagbearer. He believes Acheampong is a strong candidate who can benefit the party.
Appiah-Kubi praised Acheampong's intelligence and business success. He stated that Acheampong can help redeem the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The former lawmaker emphasized the need for a strong candidate to win the 2028 elections. He said, “Our task is to present a great candidate who can redeem our party.”
Acheampong’s skills make him an ideal leader, according to Appiah-Kubi. “If we are looking for intellectual prowess, Bryan is the one,” he remarked.
Bryan Acheampong has announced his intention to run for NPP flagbearer in 2028. Other candidates include Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Kennedy Agyapong, and Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum.
Dr. Bawumia revealed that the NPP plans to elect its 2028 presidential candidate by January next year. He noted that in November, they elected their 2024 candidate, giving John Mahama an advantage.
Bawumia mentioned there was little time for reconciliation after internal elections due to fallout from various constituencies.
