Andy Appiah-Kubi, former MP for Asante Akim North, supports Dr. Bryan Acheampong. He believes Dr. Acheampong can help the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Appiah-Kubi emphasized the need for a strong candidate for 2028 elections. He stated that Dr. Acheampong is preparing himself for this mission.
He praised Dr. Acheampong's intelligence and business acumen. Appiah-Kubi said, “If we want intellectual prowess, Bryan is the one.” He added that having him as a candidate serves two purposes.
Bryan Acheampong has announced his intention to run for NPP flagbearer in 2028. Other candidates include Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Kennedy Agyapong, and Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum.
Dr. Bawumia revealed that the NPP plans to elect its 2028 presidential candidate by January next year. He noted that the party elected its 2024 candidate in November last year.
This timing gave John Mahama an advantage as he was already campaigning across the country. Dr. Bawumia mentioned there was little time for reconciliation after internal elections due to fallout from various constituencies.
