Former MP for Asante Akim North, Andy Appiah-Kubi, has made a statement. He hinted that Dr. Bryan Acheampong, the MP for Abetifi, will run for the NPP presidential candidacy.
Mr. Appiah-Kubi spoke to the media about this development. He said preparations are underway for Dr. Acheampong to lead the party in the next election. He described Dr. Acheampong as an ideal candidate to unify and revitalize the NPP.
“Our goal is to present a strong candidate who can redeem our party,” he stated. “Dr. Bryan Acheampong is preparing himself for that mission.” He added that Dr. Acheampong will speak for himself soon but considers himself just a messenger.
Appiah-Kubi believes Dr. Acheampong has both intellectual capacity and business skills. “If we want a candidate with intellectual prowess, Bryan is it,” he said. “He’s also a successful business mogul, so we’re getting two benefits in one.”
He emphasized that the NPP can develop Ghana effectively. However, he noted that current internal divisions must be resolved first to ensure the party's return to power.
