Minister of State for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has asserted that the upcoming budget presentation on March 11 will prove that the economy inherited by the current administration is in worse condition than it was in 2016.
Speaking on Newsfile on March 1, he dismissed claims by former Deputy Finance Minister Dr. Stephen Amoah that the economy was better before the transition.
Kwakye Ofosu cited the Domestic Debt Exchange Programme (DDEP) as evidence of severe economic distress, calling it the harshest policy under the Fourth Republic.
He also argued that most economic indicators have worsened, explaining why the President avoided them in his State of the Nation Address.
He refuted claims that the previous government left a positive primary balance.
