Buduburam Explosion: Affected property owners grow impatient due to delay in receiving compensation

Victims report no progress after a month Victims report no progress after a month

Residents of Gomoa Buduburam are frustrated over delays in compensation following a rock explosion on October 14, during the Kasoa-Winneba road project by Nag Fairmount Company Limited.

The blast claimed three lives, injured dozens, and destroyed homes and businesses, disrupting livelihoods.

Despite a committee set up by the Central Regional Coordinating Council to assess damages, victims report no progress after a month.

Businesswoman Hajia Magajia says her destroyed goods and vehicle remain unreplaced, while homeowner Lawrence Abraham fears for his family’s safety under a shattered roof.

Assemblyman Emmanuel Dogbey says he’s struggling to calm residents, who are threatening protests and may block the construction company from continuing work until their demands are met.
