Businessman accused of visa fraud granted GH¢100,000 bail

The Accra Circuit Court has granted bail to Darry Stephen Oppong. He is a 36-year-old businessman accused of fraud. The bail amount is GH¢100,000 with two sureties.

Oppong is accused of obtaining GH¢221,380 from a victim. He allegedly did this by promising to secure a U.S. visa for him. Oppong denied the charge and will return to court on April 28.

Police Chief Inspector Dzibordi Nego reported that the complainant is Emmanuel Aboagye. Aboagye works as a business consultant. The prosecution stated that last year, clients approached Aboagye for help traveling to the United States.
