Nana Obiri Boahen, former Deputy General Secretary of the NPP, criticized President John Dramani Mahama. He spoke about Mahama's decision to distribute sanitary pads to school girls. This occurred during the first 120 days of his presidency.
In an interview on Original TV, Obiri Boahen called the initiative a "misplaced priority." He noted that while Mahama focused on sanitary pads, leaders in neighboring countries were achieving more.
He highlighted Burkina Faso's Interim President Ibrahim Traoré as an example. Under Traoré’s leadership, Burkina Faso is undergoing significant transformation. Obiri Boahen contrasted this with what he described as Mahama’s symbolic and ineffective gesture.
“This is not an achievement,” he stated. He emphasized that buying sanitary pads for school girls is not comparable to national development efforts in Burkina Faso.
