Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former Vice President, is the NPP's 2024 flagbearer. He believes that by 2028, Ghanaians will want the NPP back in power.
During a Thank You Tour in the Eastern Region, he spoke to party members. Dr. Bawumia noted that Nana Akufo-Addo is less popular now than before. However, he believes history will be kind to him.
He stated that people will eventually appreciate Akufo-Addo's contributions to Ghana. "Today they may not see it," he said, "but they will soon."
Dr. Bawumia expressed confidence that by 2028, Ghanaians will call for the NPP’s return. He thanked party members for their efforts and urged unity within the party.
In related news, Bryan Acheampong from Abetifi plans to announce his candidacy for the NPP flagbearership in 2028. Reports indicate he will run for this position.
Other candidates include Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Kennedy Agyapong, and Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum. Andy Appiah-Kubi praised Bryan Acheampong as a strong candidate for the NPP.
He emphasized the need for a revitalizing leader to win in 2028.
