C/R: 40-year-old woman murdered at Awutu Beraku

A 40-year-old woman was murdered in Awutu Beraku. Her name was Afia Koowah. She left home on Sunday, May 25, 2025, to fetch firewood. Her husband, Kofi Opare, reported her missing when she did not return.

On Monday morning, May 26, a passerby heard her baby crying. The passerby found Afia's lifeless body nearby.

Kofi Opare filed a formal complaint at the Awutu Beraku District Police Command. Police officers were sent to the scene immediately. Afia's body has been taken to the Police Hospital’s morgue for preservation and autopsy.

In an interview with Citi News, Kofi Opare urged police to investigate thoroughly. He wants to know what happened to his wife.
