C/R: Six suspects remanded after violent clash at Gomoa Dominase

The Kasoa Ofaakor Circuit Court has remanded six suspects. They were arrested during a violent clash at the Gomoa Dominase Onion Market. This market is located in the Central Region.

Some suspects had dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp. Others were arrested for obstructing police duties. The incident happened when security forces tried to crack down on drug peddlers.

The operation turned violent, leading to one death and three injured officers. One injured officer has been treated and discharged. The other two are still receiving medical care.

Naana Ackom, the Gomoa East District Chief Executive (DCE), spoke to Citi News. She said the District Security Council will monitor the area closely. They aim to apprehend more suspected criminals.

“The Gomoa East District Assembly is committed to law and order,” she stated. She urged residents, community leaders, and stakeholders to support their efforts.
