The Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) has renewed demands for full migration to university-level working conditions and payment of outstanding all-year-round compensation.
In a December 17 press release, CETAG criticized the government for failing to implement directives from the National Labour Commission (NLC), despite an arbitral award issued last year.
CETAG President Maxwell Bunu lamented the government’s unresponsiveness since their strike was suspended on August 20, 2024. He accused authorities of providing empty assurances while neglecting payments, with only four out of 46 colleges receiving full compensation.
The association has set a December 20 deadline for the government to act or face another strike.
Bunu warned that CETAG would not tolerate further delays, stating that “no intervention” would dissuade them from pressing for their members’ rights.
