Unpaid funds include arrears for perishables, day schools, single-track schools, food transportation
The Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) has urged the government to promptly settle all outstanding financial obligations to senior high schools.
In a press release dated December 21, CHASS acknowledged recent disbursements but stated they were insufficient to address pressing needs.
Unpaid funds include arrears for perishables, day schools, single-track schools, food transportation, utility bills, and recurrent expenses. CHASS warned that these delays jeopardize school operations and could derail the January 2025 reopening.
The group stressed that without urgent payments, schools would struggle to manage daily activities, impacting students’ welfare.
CHASS hinted at possible action, cautioning that failure to release funds might force them to recommend postponing the academic calendar.
They called for immediate intervention to ensure smooth school operations.
