CHRAJ petitioned over Sammy Gyamfi’s dollars gift to Agradaa

Eric Dumenu Akatsi, a private citizen, has filed a petition with the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ). He is concerned about CEO Sammy Gyamfi gifting dollars to evangelist Nana Agradaa.

In his petition, Akatsi referenced Article 218(e) of Ghana's 1992 Constitution. This article allows CHRAJ to investigate suspected corruption and abuse of power by public officials. He stated he is writing as a concerned citizen of Ghana.

Akatsi described Gyamfi's actions in a video as “a clear instance of alleged corruption.” He claimed that Gyamfi has two private bank accounts at Consolidated Bank Ghana. One account is in dollars and the other in cedis, both containing over One Hundred Million Ghana Cedi.

He noted that these large deposits are a recent development. Akatsi emphasized that mathematical accuracy leads to signs of suspected corruption. He expressed confidence that CHRAJ would give his petition the attention it deserves.

Sammy Gyamfi has faced scrutiny after a video surfaced showing him giving money to Nana Agradaa. In the viral video shared on social media platform X, Gyamfi was seen next to his white Range Rover with Agradaa. After talking briefly, he sat in his car and began counting several notes of US dollars.

Nana Agradaa insisted he hand over all the money instead of just some. She then took all the cash from him and walked away, flaunting it to bystanders while saying, “I have taken dollars from Sammy Gyamfi.”
