CIMG tasked to lead national customer satisfaction survey to improve customer service experience

The Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has a new directive. He wants the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG) to conduct a nationwide survey. This survey will assess customer satisfaction in both public and private sectors.

Iddrisu spoke during the inauguration of the new Governing Council of CIMG. He mentioned that President John Mahama fully supports this initiative. The President has asked CIMG to lead the satisfaction survey.

"The President trusts you completely," Iddrisu said. "He wants to know if Ghanaians are satisfied with services." This includes services from doctors, nurses, telecom providers, and regulators like the Ghana Standards Authority.

The Minister expressed concern about service providers in critical sectors. He noted that many seem to take consumers for granted. "When electricity goes off or water is unavailable, who do you talk to?" he asked.

Iddrisu emphasized the need for better marketing strategies. Service providers should focus on customer-centered practices. He stated that consumers must be treated like royalty, as marketing principles suggest. Systemic reforms are necessary to achieve this goal.
