The Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG), has warned of industrial action following alleged forced evictions of its members by armed individuals in Accra.
Residents of the UNDP residence, a long-time refuge for civil servants, reported traumatic experiences, property damage, and intimidation during the attacks.
Executive Secretary Isaac Bampoe Addo called for an urgent investigation into alleged sales of government properties and demanded police protection for affected members. “We cannot work in such an environment,” he stated, urging the IGP to intervene or face a nationwide strike.
The attacks, reportedly affecting areas like Roman Ridge, Labone, Ridge, and Osu, have heightened tensions, with CLOGSAG pressing the government to safeguard civil servants’ welfare and security.
