The government will meet with the leadership of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association (CLOGSAG) on Thursday, February 27, to resolve the ongoing strike.

CLOGSAG is demanding the removal of newly appointed Births and Deaths Registrar, Samuel Adom Botchway, citing concerns over his alleged political affiliation.

The Ministry of Labour, Jobs, and Unemployment has urged the association to suspend the strike ahead of the talks.

However, CLOGSAG’s Executive Secretary, Isaac Bampoe Addo, insists only the National Executive Council can call off the strike.

He also argued that neutrality rules must be applied fairly, as some members have previously been dismissed for political involvement.

The outcome of the meeting will determine the association’s next steps.
