The Civil Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) has announced a nationwide strike set for Thursday, February 20, 2025.
The move is in response to the continued tenure of Samuel Adom Botchway as head of the Births and Deaths Registry, despite government assurances of his removal.
CLOGSAG argues that Mr. Botchway’s participation in a budget hearing at the Ministry of Local Government on February 17 confirms he remains in office, contradicting earlier promises.
In a statement signed by Executive Secretary Isaac Bampoe Addo, the association stressed that unless the issue is resolved, the strike will proceed as planned.
CLOGSAG urges members to prepare for industrial action to demand accountability and ensure government commitments are honored.
